Parekraf Gives Written Warning to Hotel Used as OTG Isolation Location in West Jakarta

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency instructed hotels used as controlled isolation locations for people exposed to COVID-19 without symptoms (OTGs) to tighten their supervision.

I also asked security personnel who work in hotels which are used as isolation location to increase their surveillance

Jakarta Parekraf Agency Acting Head (Plt), Gumilar Ekalaya said that in response to negligence of one hotel management in West Jakarta regarding OTGs who interact with meatball seller. The hotel had been given written warning due to this case.

"Our team moves quickly to the location and ask hotel management to take necessary policies to prevent similar incident to happen again," he stated, Wednesday (7/28).

In Written Warning Letter No. 2925/-1.858.2 which he signed, his side stated that there was a violation due to not carrying out obligations as stipulated in Article 18 of Gubernatorial Regulation No. 2/2020 concerning COVID-19 Handling.

"Due to that violation, we give written warning. If the warning is not heeded, we will take action in accordance with provisions of the applicable laws and regulations," he asserted.

According to him, hotel management has realized and acknowledge the incident as negligence. Currently, all areas that allow interaction between hotel occupants who undergoing isolation and other parties outside the hotel have been closed.

"I also asked security personnel who work in hotels which are used as isolation location to increase their surveillance to areas outside of hotel thus similar incident won't happen again," he mentioned.

Through written statement, hotel management regretted the incident. As a follow-up, hotel has closed fence surrounding the hotel with tarpaulins and tightened supervision in collaboration with local related parties.

"Previously we have also made prohibition sign for traders not to sell around hotel area, signed the forbidden area that shouldn't be passed or entered by patients or unauthorized parties," he conveyed.
